Earlier this year I posted photos from the Johnson family. Some of these photos may seem familiar because Rikki Van Dyk had 2 sessions with me this summer. One for her side and one for her husband Chris’ side of the family. What a great combination of galleries to have!
The Van Dyk session was on a Friday morning during the St. Croix County Fair. This is an important time for them as many are involved with various projects and our local North Country 4-H Club.
We worked efficiently and I would say it was a success! What was also special was that all of the family could be together. A couple of Chris’ siblings live in other states. And, when a spread out and busy family comes together it is a perfect opportunity to have an extended session.
I just love this gallery. The moody sky, the farm, and the unhappy (yes, unhappy) kids. The one of the girls is so precious. Like I have said before, photographs are most meaningful when they reflect reality as well. A bit of reality combined with idealism (like posed and smiling faces) is a great combination and that is what the Van Dyk’s got.
I enjoyed getting to know the Van Dyk family more and really appreciate that they were willing to carve a bit of time in a busy weekend to capture their time together. Thank you Rikki and Chris for setting this all up!
