Remember my birth session in July of little baby Emily, my niece?! Well, she is 6 months old already and crawling and very busy!
I was blessed to have a student job-shadow me this week. Abbey is a sophomore from the Clayton school district. Her career’s class instructor was a fall client (one I will preview this coming week) of mine and contacted me a couple of weeks ago to see if I’d be willing to have Abbey. So, I gathered up a client and put together a studio in my kitchen. It is very simple and quite handy when it is an average of 0 degrees these winter days and am looking for a bit of a change from the lifestyle sessions I perform. I have been building up the studio over time and have hopes to have it as an option for more newborn and young children sessions. I love the simplicity to these images for little ones. Yet, I cannot help but dream of the beautiful outdoor colors we’ll have at our disposal around Emily’s one year session. I love me some outdoors!
Speaking of, Abbey brought me out of my winter hibernation and got me back on my toes. I am a teacher at heart. I love educating and helping others, so this was very enjoyable. It made me miss being a school counselor. But at the same time I am loving my new career as a photographer. Thank you Abbey and Emily for reminding me of why I do what I do!
